Guyana Punch

I added a cool special editions page to the boxpunx site today, with some great images taken by my friend Vinbreau. The characters found there are Devilman, Emily the Strange, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, and Magic Knight Rayearth, which includes all three girls and Mokona.

Here is a link to some of the other photos that were taken.

Boxpunx specials by Vinbreau

I also recently designed a Hoody model for Urban Fresh.

I think he turned out pretty sharp. Click on him to download the template.

The future of war

I recently recieved another boxpunx design by another artist, this awesome guy is punxboxcatcheur by DHOE, a fellow nicepapertoys member. Click his name to check out some of his work. Click here to download his model: BOXPUNX FRIENDS.

And if you missed BOXPUNX SERIES TWO, well scroll down to the next post! I am currently setting up the Special Edition section of the site and hopefully it will be up by tomorrow with some cool new pics of some of the “seriesless” models I have made recently such as Devilman, Nny, Emily, and of course the Magic Knights. The PersonaFAN series will be available there as well.

The photographer that takes all these great photos has a very interesting blog, you should go check it out. It’s called SPOOKY ACTION AT A DISTANCE. Cool music, funny video clips, political truths, and interesting imagery can all be found there. I have to pay for the photos with plugs, so that is the first of many. Thanks again Vin for such great work!!!

Recently he posted the video for “Revolution Action” by ATARI TEENAGE RIOT. I am a huge fan, so let me follow in his footsteps and show some other cool ATR videos. This one is called “Speed”.

I love this song, it’s called “Sick to Death”. The text in the corner says it’s “Speed”, but that is not correct, as you will see.

We will end with “The Future of War”.

We are so much alike

Boxpunx series two now online! Click any of the pics to be taken straight there. !2 new models to choose from, including one 7-sheet behemoth. As I have mentioned before, the series is called “Mods and Tributes” and except the first and last model, the rest are based on characters that have inspired me in some small way. Of course there are many many more things I like and draw inspirado from, and I don’t plan to stop making papercraft anytime soon. From here on out, I plan to try to keep the inspired models in the “Special Edition” category, and keep on doing 12 piece sets featuring different kinds of models. And hopefully each set will have a new model, like the mecha. Anyway, I hope everyone likes the new toys. They are all FREE to download right now.

This is a great band you’ve probably never heard of. Mira with “Alone”.

Here’s another song, the only other one I could find, it’s called “Cayman”. The video is fan-made for an rpg called “Kingdom Hearts“, which features Walt Disney characters alongside Final Fantasy characters. I haven’t beaten a Kingdom Hearts game, but I like the idea. I really like this song.

Strawberry fields forever

Boxpunx series two number nine: Another Jack + Geist. One of my favorite toys is a replica of the Shin Megami Tensei mascots, Jack Frost and Jack Lantern, pictured above. I already made a Jack Frost, and thought it would be fun to make his friend, assuming I can make a glueless hat. After a few experiments, I came up with a concept that worked pretty well I think. It didn’t take up a whole second sheet though, so I added a mini poltergeist, like the piggy with gaz. Except this is the female mini, so it all works out perfectly now. At least one of each type of model is part of the set. 3 more models to go. Number 12 is going to be unique and different. So much so I doubt anyone will have the patience to build it. But I think it will look cool. And in the end that’s all that really counts, right?

I watched the movie “Across the Universe” recently, and really enjoyed it. Here’s a couple scenes/renditions that I found particularly cool, without ruining anything about the film as a whole…

It was a very creative film, and yeah, it has a happy ending. You like happy ending?

This is “Daytripper”, an episode of the Beatles cartoon from the 60s.
