Terrible angels

I recently started a very cool Playstation 2 game called “Soul Nomad and the World Eaters“. It is a unique strategy rpg, in the sense that it is a squad vs. squad based game instead of individual vs. individual. There have been other squad vs. squad games indeed, but this game has an approach all it’s own. If you like tactics style games, and storylines that envolve the battle of light versus darkness, but not only the darkness around you, but also inside of you, then here is an awesome game just waiting for you to own it. It’s by the people who made Disgaea. Here’s the Japanese trailer, it’s called “Soul Cradle” over there.

I think it’s a lot of fun and I love all the art, it’s so beautiful. Another interesting looking strategy rpg is “Song Summoner” for Apple’s click wheel video iPod. I don’t have it yet, but it’s only $4.99 and looks pretty neat.

Almost time for the new Venture Brothers and the season premiere of Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show, Great Job! so I will leave you with this. Cocorosie with “Terrible Angels”.

Pink cloud tracing paper

Here is a picture showing how Vin and I took the series four photos. A couple people have asked, and of course I thought it was cool that they thought it was cool that we thought it was cool, and so on.

Making fun and interesting stages has really been Vin’s idea, and I appreciate that he has pushed me in this direction because the end result is so wonderful. At first I just wanted a plain white background, just click and continue, very little work on the photographer’s part. I wanted detailed, clean photos for sure, who doesn’t, but I didn’t want Vin to have to put too much into it. I was trying to be considerate. But he embraced my ideas wholeheartedly and helped me to evolve and expand them, as well as coming up with many great ideas of his own. The series three dungeon is a small stage made out of painted styrofoam. It’s so simple yet so brilliant. That was all his idea.

I try to have very little input on the photography. If anything, I may suggest “leaving some white space for me to put a logo or something in a few of them”, but that’s about it.

Then after he has tweaked the detail of the images he sends them to me and then I lay on the text/logos/whatnot and occasionally add some minor adjustment to the look or color as well. Most I leave alone, and you can typically tell the normal ones from the far more surreal ones. Or you could say which ones I f#$%ed up and which ones I didn’t.^^

Remember those Adult Swim figures from a few days ago? We still haven’t taken those pics yet but I bet it’s going to be soon. Maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow. Maybe the next day…

This is the totally wonderful ASOBI SESKU with “Pink Cloud Tracing Paper”. Super noisy live version. The album version is brilliant, and this is the only clip I could find, so I had to post it and use that title. The clip is still great.

Here’s a clean one, “I’m Happy But You Don’t Like Me”. Maybe I should have called this post that! Oh well, this video has GAMERA in it! Watch! The song is really good, so dreamy and hyper, I love Asobi Sesku. Don’t you?

I am the robot

A few hours ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I made these:

I am not a huge fan now, but I was when I was very small. These two were my favorite characters.

This is My Robot Friend with “I am the Robot”.
