Say aha!
In case you didn’t get your hands on a copy of Computer Arts projects #126, above is a picture of the models I made for it. There were also a bunch of other models by other designers, including a ton of Marshall Alexander’s work, one of my favorites. If you see it on the stands, pick it up!
Unfortunately no new models yet. Almost all of my time has been divided between 2 things, a book collaboration with a handful of wonderful and talented people, and catching up on the Showtime series DEXTER. Although I am enjoying the program, I doubt I will make a boxpunx based on Dex. But if I do, expect it to be blood splattered.
It looks like Atlus is skipping Persona 2 remakes and going straight to episode 3. Here is a trailer for Persona 3 PSP.
From what I can tell, you can choose a female protaganist this time, although the story appears largely unchanged. Expect new characters, possibly new locations, who knows. I was curious about what Hitler thought about Atlus not remaking Persona 2 (a game in which Hitler appears) and here is how he felt about it: (SMT fans only!)
I found this video on YOuTube of someone making one of the boxpunx models from series four. If you are still confused about how to fold the legs for some of these older models, this video shows the proper way. Matwernerart, thanks for posting this!
I have also been watching “Science Ninja Team Gatchaman” on YouTube. If you don’t know what this is, it’s a Japanese cartoon from the seventies that was re-edited and called “Battle of the Planets” here. They are not necessarily “brilliant” or anything, I am watching them out of curiosity more than anything. I really love the old school animation style. Again, it’s not perfect, but I am enjoying it. If you too are curious, here is the first part of the first episode. There are many more episodes available, with the first 20 dubbed in English.
Speaking of curiosity, if you were also wondering what’s next for boxpunx, well..
First, I want to make BOXPUNX SERIES ZERO, which will consist of 12 blank templates, 11 new ones and 1 old one not available as a blank before ( hint: big robot ). Second, I want to do an artist series, using not only the models from series zero, but also using the models that currently reside on the blank templates page ( link at the top of this page ). Once Series zero is complete, I will announce the artist series.
I leave you with the song “Say Aha” by SANTOGOLD. The footage is from two of her other videos, but this is the track I like the most*.
*(Favorites are always subject to change^^)
